Sea View

12th September

Awesome - yes that sums it up in a word.

Over 30 Harley’s and their riders gathered at Warr’s for the end of summer ride - as I said in the pre ride advert the weather will be with us and it was. An admirable job was performed at the rear by tail end Les and the penultimate Michael Howers in case that any assistance was required - it wasn’t.

It is always a bit of a slog to leave London but we hit the twisty stuff sooner rather than later having left the A3 at Worcester Park. Heading south through Ewell and down past biking famous Box Hill.

With a half way stop at The Parrot - Forest Green we rode on through Ewhurst and Rudgwick picking up the A281 then the A29 for Billingshurst. We kept going out to Coolham, down to Thakeham and through Storrington heading towards that other iconic biker stop that is Bury Hill. Finally turning to the coastal road, moving along the A27 and our destination loomed. The Crown and Anchor, a Young’s pub right on the harbour side, at Dell Quay.

The staff at both of the locations did a great job with special mention to those at Dell Quay, upon arrival we had been reserved parking in a busy environment. Not only that but half the pub was given over to the chapter, there was a BBQ running outside and the beer garden offered superb views of the boating.

The food was first class as of course was the company with a welcome return to chapter riding from Smiley Steve and his ape hangers - don’t leave it so long next time. And of course we cannot forget and welcome the half a dozen first time riders with C&F - hope you enjoyed it, I did and see you next time.

Cheers.
