Tuscan Thunder - Forte dei Marmi, Italy

Italian mountains

8th July 2006

This year C&F’s main overseas activity took place in Forte Dei Marmi on the stunning Versilia Riviera, Italy. Over 55 members took part with various groups making their own way down to Tuscany and meeting up for an organised ride out and evening party in early July.

Once in Tuscany the weather was faultless. The morning ride out through the Alpi Apuane mountains was breathtaking and the after ride hospitality afforded to the group by the local H-D dealer at Versilia and its H.O.G. members was typically Italian in its generosity.

In the evening the group assembled at the Relais & Chateau “Il Bottacio” where, after a welcoming glass or two of Prosseco, our host Nini cooked up a splendid barbecue of local specialities. The wine flowed and the road stories grew taller. A good time was had by all with many retiring to the town square for night caps into the early hours.

Each year C&F hold several overseas road trips. Traffic-free roads, stunning scenery, good food and wine and joyeux de vie beckon for those who participate and lasting friendships and memories are made.

Once bitten by the touring bug you’ll be smitten so why not join us on our next European adventure? Keep an eye on our future events by checking the H.O.G. pages at warrs.com
